Overcomers

Nothing comes easy. Life is full of challenges. Many challenges are external circumstances and difficulties we experience in school, work, marriage, singleness, parenting, friendship, or other areas of our lives. However, the internal struggles are often the most difficult to overcome. Our internal fears, temptations, anxiety, and thinking patterns are usually where we experience the greatest defeat.

It is difficult to be victorious in life. We may seek to escape it, deny it, or be resolved to go down fighting. However, there is another way. 

In the first letter of John, we find hope and encouragement that there is a way to overcome the world. "Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God" (1 JN 5:5)?

The Gospel message of Easter is that by faith in Jesus, the resurrected Son of God, we can victoriously overcome this world. Any other savior we look to for deliverance, we will find to be a false savior, providing us only defeat.
