CrossLife Sunday Morning Worship
It is a common phrase to say when you are confident about a bit of information. "No doubt!" Yet, are we ever 100% and without doubt about much? It is easy to have honest questions and even doubts about almost everything. We live with a level of uncertainty every moment of every day. However, not all areas of uncertainty are of equal importance. For a Christian or any honest spiritual truth seeker, the claims of the Bible, and more specifically Jesus, have eternal consequences.
Religious and irreligious people both have to wrestle with questions. As C.S. Lewis wisely stated, "Now that I am a Christian, I do have moods in which the whole thing looks very improbable; but when I was an atheist, I had moods in which Christianity looked terribly probable."
In 1 John 5:6-12, we have a testimony given as to the veracity of the truth about Jesus Christ. This passage is an incredible passage for considering the truth about Jesus' identity and ability to provide salvation. Secondly, the passage gives us a way to evaluate the legitimacy of our faith in Christ. Ultimately, answering the question of how you can know that you have eternal life. Can you say you are secure in your faith with no doubt?
