In 2021, this turned out to be a 29% increase over the previous year.
People return packages for a number of reasons including the item is broken, the description didn't match, bad price or they did not like the product. Regardless of the reason, returns cost companies $351 Billion in sales in 2017 alone. When you examine all the reasons someone would return an item, most of them fall under the category of “unmet expectations.”
