Reset or Revival?
Reset or Revival
Is it time for a great reset? This has been the call from leaders around the West, ranging from Europe to North America. Unfortunately, there are many concerning ideas around what this great reset might involve. Freedom of religion and biblically informed morals and values do not seem to be part of their plan. Regardless of what path any nation may take, Biblical Christianity has always found a way to survive and even thrive. What the world needs is not a reset but a revival.
When great numbers of people turn to Jesus and are saved this is defined as a spiritual awakening, not a revival. Our nation is certainly in need of a spiritual awakening, but there is a greater need for the church to be concerned (and it doesn't involve politics).
A revival is when those who profess to know Jesus experience a supernatural move of God, involving repentance and believers turning from sin and self-reliance to Christ. Revival is when believers are revived by the presence and power of God’s Holy Spirit, resulting in lives of personal holiness and boldness in the proclamation the Gospel.
In Deuteronomy 11, Moses reminds God's people that they must learn from the past as they prepare for the future. Moses makes it clear that God is leading them into a place where their only option is to love God and obey His commands. If they walk with God, they need not fear the future. But, if they follow after the deceptive beliefs and practices of the people around them they will destroy themselves.
God has called His people out from the world, to be a Kingdom of Priests displaying His wisdom, justice, and love to the searching world.
