Finding Your Desert

May 5, 2019    Pastor David Anglin    BOLD Series, Acts 9:20-31, Galatians 1:13-18,

In Acts 9:20-31, we find two time stamps given by the author Luke. The first is in verse 20, “immediately he proclaimed Jesus." Saul (or Paul) immediately began confessing that Jesus was the Son of God. The second time stamp is a bit more obscure, where verse 23 says, “when many days passed.”
In Galatians 1:10-18, Paul shares the details of those many days, involving 3 years in the desert of Arabia.
The future ministry of Paul flowed from this time of solitude in his life. It was in the desert that Jesus transformed Saul into Paul and the persecutor would emerge the persecuted. Three years of solitude fueled decades of ministry and 19 centuries of impact.
