Is All Growth Equal?

Since the fall in Genesis 3, all growth and garden has thorns, sweat, and difficulty. Growth is a struggle for all things physical and even spiritual. All growth is not equal, nor are all environments equally suited for healthy growth.
In any church with Biblically-faithful teaching, you will have some people flourishing and some struggling to get it. Why do some people thrive spiritually while others show little growth?
