Have You Been Reconciled to God?
Be Reconciled to God
Have you ever asked someone about their relationship with God? If you have, they probably said something like, "God and I are good." People will often say, "the big man upstairs and I are great, I just don't like church people."
The responses above, along with similar answers reveal a lot about contemporary views about God and man. Most people think they are not that bad or at least not as bad as others. Most people tend to also downplay God's holiness and righteousness. They see God as a soft grandparent that wants them to do their best to be good and may even think some of their sinful moments are a little cute.
The truth is that God could never downplay, ignore, or excuse our sin or unrighteousness. God has provided, and invited us into, something far better.
This Sunday, we will look at 1 Corinthians 5:17 to discover the essence of salvation. God at the unimaginable cost of Christ became sin and died a sinner's death so that we could be made right with God. Have you been reconciled to God?
