Deciphering Spiritual Forces and Attacks

The word “occult” refers to that which is hidden, or secret, beyond the range of ordinary human knowledge or below the surface of normal life. There is a hidden world of spiritual power that is becoming increasingly popular and normalized in our culture today. It seems as if this is an fascinating neutral world to be explored and even leveraged for personal gain. The paranormal and the occult are not new, and the Bible is not ignorant nor silent regarding the powers of darkness.

In Numbers 22-25, the nation of Israel came under a spiritual attack, against their knowledge. The King Balak of the Moabites hired a man named Balaam, with dark spiritual powers to curse the Israelites. This passage gives us some great insight into the subtle but real spiritual battles we may face every day, yet we are usually unaware.

How can we identify and survive spiritual warfare and attacks?
