Sacred Space
The majority of people I know, meet, or interact with on a regular basis appear to be unsettled. Whatever the latest ticker, tweet, post, or news update provides, it will undoubtedly contain bad news or at least continued uncertainty. I was talking with some Pastors this week from around the country and all agreed 2020 was bad but 2021 was worse. The consensus was an awareness that those who call themselves Christians are failing to impress anyone by their ability to navigate these crazy times.
So, how are you coping? More importantly, how well are you tending to your soul?
There is a sacred space within each person in which there is a spiritual throne room. The throne is never empty and yet there is only one for whom it fits. All others who sit on that throne are usurpers and will fail to rule the heart of a person with wisdom, gentleness, and peace.
"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." -Colossians 3:2
As we look at the year ahead, the most critical factor about how you navigate the days that lie ahead will be determined by what or who is on that inner throne. In this message, we will be focusing on how to guard, cultivate, and enjoy that sacred space.
